About Me

about meI tried to photograph vivid landscapes, beautiful flowers, and even portraits of interesting people. While I admire how well others have captured these subjects, it just didn’t resonate with me.

For the past few years I have focused primarily on architectural subjects for my images. Perhaps it’s my “math brain” exercising its propensity for angles, corners, shapes, and geometric patterns. Regardless, I find beauty in man made objects and try to capture that. My images are not necessarily what you would expect as a factual representation of the subject. In fact some photographers don’t consider my work as photography at all (I’ve given up trying to convince them). These images are “manufactured” to make the scene appear, as I wanted it to be seen. Many agree that they appear more as an illustration or a painting, than a photograph.

The process I employ is called high dynamic range (HDR) photography. Carefully used, it will give the photographer more dynamic range when it is impossible to capture it with a single image. I find the process interesting to use even when the light does not demand multiple exposures. I “push” the image a bit to get the result you see. I hope you enjoy it.
